Artists Biography:
London-based Alana is considered to be a talented artist who is able to take ordinary objects or figures and transform them on paper or fabric into something extraordinary. She describes herself as
"a quirky colourful individual who flourished in the quiet country."
She Writes that it's integral to understand how science and design can be combined, which led to her exploring how Kinetic Textiles can be part of an interactive environment.
Her Illustrative patterns and creature-like kinetic sculptures are full of character we can emphasise with and re-tell the way we experience space and the body.
Specialising in print, knit and construction she creates future surfaces of pop-up and clock-work wallpapers and imaginative textiles for fashion and interiors.
After graduating from Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design, London with a masters in Textile Futures she has sold a collection of works to boutiques and exhibited at Nissan Design Europe.
